The former Nigerian Minister of Interior and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Imo State for 2015 elections, Captain Emmanuel Larry Ihenacho has described as horrible and manifestation of every thing which has gone wrong in Imo State under the supervision of Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha, the recent ordering of minors and students of some secondary schools to join in his political rally:
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri soon after the botched political debate organized by the Catholic Church in the state, the APGA flag bearer opined that it was condemnable that a governor who prides his administration as propagating a Rescue Mission should order students out of their classes on the fateful day to come and crowd at the Assumpta Catholic Cathedral for a political debate.
The ex-minister made it clear that it was very wrong to have “used the students as political human shield” to march through the streets in the state with him after the debate was disrupted by these children and other APC youths and PDP members who were showing red cards and blowing whistles.
Exonerating his party from the milce, Captain Ihenacho said it was an aberration that the governor should order the students out of studies on that day, even as he averred that the parents of these children ought to be notified and they give their consent. “It is condemnable and it should not be allowed that the governor should act as an emperor in a democratic setting,
