Boko Haram Insurgents Attack Igbo Man, Family Over Refusal To Join Islam

An Abia state Indigene and Electrician by profession, Julius Orji and his  family have reportedly  been  brutally  attacked by hoodlums suspected to be members of the  Boko Haram.

The unfortunate gruesome attack happened at Mr Orji’s residence in the midnight at a suburb  in Sabongari town in Kano State,Northern Nigeria  on June 8,   20214.

Correspondent report revealed that Mr Julius Orji who hails from Ovom 1, in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state was attacked with his family, for not joining the Muslim religion which the Boko Haram sect claims to be  defending.

Reports confirmed that Julius Orji, his wife, Oluchi and their  little daughter,Ijeoma  were viciously  attacked by Boko Haram insurgents where they lived  in Kano State ,northern  Nigeria for failure to join the Muslim religion Julius and family are renown  Christians.

It was further gathered that during the attack the Electrician’s wife, Oluchi was said to have been seriously injured by the assistants using   Machete on her, as well as Julius who got  part of his  head  cut open.

Both husband  and wife reportedly  received machete wounds,with the intention to allow them bleed to death before their little daughter.

Their little  daughter , Ijeoma was equally  brutalized,as she also got  injured on her forehead.It was  said to  had been a fearful  moment for the Igbo family who were  being confronted by agents of death with no defence.

Reports also showed that Julius’ only brother and  immediate relative  with  his wife( names with held) were subsequently arrested by the Boko Haram insurgents   who equally  attempted to assassinate them for their failure also to join Islam.

Julius’ only brother and family, it was said, having escaped by whiskers  had to flee Kano  to an  unknown destination as at Press time.

“By the weekend, no one could ascertain their whereabouts”,a neighbour informed.

The neighbour who spoke under anonymity revealed that Julius Orji’s horrifying experiences had traumatized his little daughter, ljeoma, his  nephew, Daniel ,as well as caused him great  emotional

distress that, the thought of living in any part of  the country  created nightmares in his mind.

According  to another source  the little  daughter , seeing  her father and  mother being brutally attacked  ,was  devastated   psychologically.As at Press time neighbours disclosed that Julius had made up his mind to run and leave Kano for good.
