Owerri Zone Senate: Chukwueke’s program excites Ikeduru APC

Leading contender for the 2023 Owerri senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Jerry Chukwueke has reassured of his commitment to re-write the narrative of the zone if given the mandate to go to the Senate in 2023.

Addressing Ikeduru APC leaders and faithful at Eziama last Sunday, Chief Chukwueke urged the people of the zone to send only their first eleven to the National Assembly to represent them.

He made it clear that poor representation was responsible for the growing unemployment and hardship with their concomitant insecurity in the land.

He took a swipe at what he called lack of voice for Owerri Zone in the Senate and vowed to usher in a new era in representation of sent to the Senate in 2023.

Chukwueke reiterated his plan to prioritize the massive training of Owerri Zone youths as US and EU certified nurses, in ICT and as truck drivers who would be assisted to secure targeted jobs abroad, adding that the programme would boost diaspora remittances and improve on the lives of families of such youths.
He disclosed that remittances from the diaspora almost competed with oil revenue to the country in recent time hitting about $17 billion or more.

The said project according to him, would work with his planed establishment Diaspora Centre for Owerri Zone amidst a vibrant constituency office that would serve as ICT training centre and for the cordination of mobile clinics for the people of the zone.

While vowing to end what he has repeatedly called ‘monetization and pocketing of projects meant for the zone, Chukwueke assured that he would launch his Outgrowers Scheme for smallholder poultry farmers which he said, would empower many in the zone.
He reaffirmed that only a new crop of competent, disciplined and dedicated leaders would save Nigeria from the present state of affairs. He however, assured that his maternal people of Ikeduru would not be left behind in the scheme of things.

Responding, Chief Charles Amadi thanked Chukwueke for the visit. and wished him well in his aspiration.

Ex-Ikeduru council chairmen, Engr Obinna Nshirim and Chuks Metu said Chief Chukwueke’s message was well received and appreciated him for the visit.

The Owerri Zone APC senatorial aspirant used the occasion to fete 360 women from the 12 wards in Ikeduru with clothing materials.
