Ikeduru PDP Crisis: Senator Samuel Anyanwu Wades In, Sues For Peace, Urges Members To Unite

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has waded into the minor disagreement involving some leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, appealing to every aggrieved persons to eschew rancor and acrimony for the good of the party.

The Amaimo Ikeduru born conflict resolution advocate also urged those directly or indirectly connected to the avoidable infighting to desist from fueling crisis among party members, advising them to rather key into the vision of rescue and rebuild Nigeria.

“I advise you to embrace yourselves and unite as a family. Forget what happened yesterday, and begin a fresh life. It is not encouraging for those whose duties are to lead the sheep to begin to go astray as the shepherd because of selfish interest. If we continue this way as a political party, the idea of rescuing and rebuilding Nigeria will be defeated”

Anyanwu, the National Secretary of PDP made this appeal in Owerri, the Imo state capital during a peace meeting he organized with the leadership of the party in Ikeduru LGA alongside with Ward Chairmen, Secretaries, Youth leaders and select women leaders.

Senator Anyanwu expressed bitterness over the recent internal party wrangling involving some prominent leaders of the party in the LGA, describing it as embarrassing and uncalled for.

He called on all aggrieved persons to sheath their sword and allow peace to reign, admonishing them to join hands with him and other leaders of the party to move PDP forward.

According to him, “Our common enemies should not be our brothers, members or leaders, but the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leaders in Nigeria. We should learn to forgive and desist from making enemies for our party. The idea of fighting ourselves should be highly discouraged if we can move forward” he maintained.

He therefore frowned at the level of disrespect against party constituted authorities by those who ought to have known the importance of respect in leadership, further enjoined them to instead channel the strength into canvassing membership for PDP as part of measures to strengthen the party.
