Imo State Government is road safety friendly -Says Works Commissioner …Receives FRSC Commander

Ralph Nwosu the IMO State Works Commissioner has disclosed the state government’s disposition in making sure that road safety measures are put in place on Imo roads without compromise.

Commissioner Ralph Nwosu made this known when he received in his office the Federal Road Safety Corps Imo State Sector Command led by their Sector Commander Joshua Adekanye.

The commissioner who opined that the provision of good road network with standard drainage system as the starting point in road safety measures disclosed that the 3R government of Senator Hope Uzodimma has already commissioned 22 roads under one year in office which showcased the importance the present administration places on lives and properties.

Ralp Nwosu  frowned at the recklessness of drivers on the road even where construction work is on going without adherence to road signs, dumping of refuse on the drains, as well as the arbitrary construction and placement of road furniture on Imo roads especially speed bumps which has constituted serious nuisance on Imo roads, while he called for change of attitude by perpetrators.

Ralph Nwosu informed the group that the state government in its relentlessly effort in giving Imo roads a face lift geared towards safety and promotion of standard of living has embarked on the installation of world class traffic lights on junctions which will meet up to international best practices as well as stand the test of time.

He called for synergy between stakeholders on road traffic and safety matters in the state for greater results as he assured the group his open door policy and availability.

Earlier the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, IMO State Sector Command Joshua Adekanya commended Commissioner Ralph Nwosu on his achievement in office so far and for giving them audience as he solicited cooperation from the Ministry.
