Uzodinma’s Grassroots Movement inaugurates Orlu, Mbaitoli chapters

The ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma to govern the state in 2019 received a major boost last Monday as one of the senator’s support groups, under the auspices of the GrassRoots Movement (GRM) for Hope Uzodinma 2019, inaugurated Mbaitoli and Orlu local government areas chapters of the movement in grand style.
GRM is a group of young progressives whose sole mandate is to ensure successful election Senator Hope Uzodinma as the next governor of Imo State through galvanising people at the grassroots to obtain their Personal Voters Card and vote for the APC governorship candidate in 2019 election.
In continuation of its effort to mobilise and galvanise the grassroots for the senator, GRM, which had inaugurated Ezinihitte Mbaise, Nkwerre and Njaba LGAs chapters last week, Monday inaugurated wards and local government coordinators in Mbaitoli and Orlu LGAs respectively.
Speaking while inaugurating the new coordinators in Nworieubi and Eziachi in Mbaitoli and Orlu LGAs respectively, the state co ordinator, Hon. Ugo Silva Ebere, said that GRM has remained a political pressure group with its utmost interest to support and deliver the candidature of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the next governor of Imo State in 2019.
Ebere pointed out that, GRM is a political movement that cuts across both political parties and religious lines with a firm belief to enthrone good leadership as according to him, Senator Uzodinma is a trustworthy, non materialistic but a dogged politician, who through his emergence as the APC governorship flag bearer liberated the state from the shackles of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s impositions and familiocracy.
He extolled the people of Orlu and Mbaitoli for their support and promised that the next government under Senstor Uzodinma will be people oriented one and urged them to register in the group in order to get all the necessary benefits.
He encouraged the newly inaugurated ward and local government coordinators not to relent in their effort to get more people to be part of the group “because with Senator Uzodinma as the next governor in the state in 2019, people in the grassroots would be the greatest beneficiaries of the government.
“Like we told the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise andother places we have visited, what we have here today is not like what we used to have. This is to show that Imo people have fed up with the incumbent administration and are now yearning for the real change.
“We established this group as a political movement which is out to proof to the world that the grassroots in Imo State are with Senator Uzodinma come 2019 and will continue as an entity even after the election to ensure that all the members benefit from the government”.
In his word, the state organizing secretary of the group, Hon. Emenike Uzor separately hailed the members from Orlu and Mbaitoli LGAs for the enthusiasm they have shown to work towards the emergence of Senator Uzodinma as the next governor of Imo State come 2019.
He therefore charged them to continue to work and convert more people with voter cards to join the group as according to him, Uzodinma’s government would bring back rural empowerment.
He stated that the group would work out a robust actions that would ensure issue-based campaigns for the group because according to him, the people of the state deserved a better leadership with human face.
In their separate remarks, the Former General Manager, Owerri Capital Development Authority, (OCDA) Barr Chidiebere Nwaorgu (Shadiv); Hon Mrs Joy Ajoku a woman leader in the area and Hon Innocent Ikpamezie thanked the state leadership of the group for their pro-activeness and determination to galvanize support for the candidacy of Senator Hope Uzodinma, who they described as the people’s choice and a man with greater capacity to free Imo State from its bondage while assuring their total commitment to mobilize massively for the victory of the APC candidate.
Other speakers at the event include, Ichie Fidelis Chimezie a retired School Principal from Umuowa community Orlu local government area, who described the action of the group as a timely one and advised on the need to continuos sensitization of the grassroots for the upcoming election.
He assured that Orlu people were solidly behind the candidature of the Senator uzodinma, who he described as brother and one who has done alot to improve the quality of life’s in the zone which include the donations of a water bore hole for the Umuorie Eziachi community and others.
Responding, the Orlu and Mbaitoli coordinators of the group, Comrade Emeka Iheukwu and Toby Achiugo thanked the state leadership for been proactive in their responsibility to ensure that the ambition of Senator Uzodinma was realized and assured that they will not relent in their capacities to mobilize for the victory for the All Progressive Congress Governorship Candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
