Youths raise fund for UPP’S Nwadike

Coalition of Imo youths under the auspices of Imo Youths for Good Governance, have resolved to organize a fund raising dinner for the senatorial candidate of United Progressive Party (UPP), for the 2019 election, Comrade Precious Nwadike.
Addressing journalists shortly after their meeting in Owerri yesterday, Coordinator of the group and National President of Owerri Young Patriots Assembly, Prince Chidi Obi, said, Comrade Precious Nwadike represents the yearnings and aspirations of average Imo youth, hence “it is important that we give him our maximum support”.
He stated that one of the major challenges that young people and credible candidates always have in politics is finance and logistics. Having realized this, Imo youths have resolved to dismantle all hurdles, to ensure that, one of them, who they trust and can vouch for, is provided with the necessary support to actualize his political ambition. “We are motivated to take up this project, because, the youth leaders in the state have analyzed Comrade Nwadike’s blue print of action and observed that it will enhance comprehensive development and address the problems of Orlu and Imo youths. Besides, Comrade Nwadike’s antecedents as a youth leader and human rights activist, who has fought injustice, oppression and bad governance with his Newspaper and has not been compromised or found wanting in any way, deserves support of not only the youths but entire Imo people”.
When asked how far they have gone with their plans, Prince Chidi who hails from the Obi royal dynasty of Ezedibia Emekuku, in Owerri North LGA of Imo state, said they have deliberated extensively and agreed to set up a committee in the next few days. He also revealed that a venue that has already been booked and will be made public soon.
Watchdog Newspaper recalls that, there are presently four major contenders for the Orlu senate seat. They are Hon Jones Onyereri, of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Rochas Okorocha, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogbuehi Denton, of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), who is rumoured to be holding brief for Senator Osita Izunaso and Comrade Precious Nwadike, who, is standing in for UPP.
