No faction in Imo APC, says BOT member, Azuatalam …There is no allocation of LGAs to stakeholders

Board of Trustee Member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Jasper Azuatalam has described the party as an entity that cannot be factionalized in Imo State, adding that the constitution of the party does not guarantee the position of acting Chairmanship.

According to Hon Azuatalam, the emergence of Coalition otherwise known as “Allied Forces” made up of stakeholders in the state was as a result of the anti-people policies of Governor Rochas Okorocha, which has thrown the entire state into abject poverty.

Hon. Azuatalam while condemning the attitude of Governor Okorocha towards the survival of Imo people, further described as a hoax the rumour that local governments have been allocated to some political leaders in view of 2019, urging the general public to ignore the story as published by Trumpets newspaper since it emanated from mischief makers whose stock in trade is to cause confusion within the coalition.

He made this disclosure while briefing newsmen at his home town Okuku, Owerri West LGA, maintaining that if stakeholders did not forcefully recover APC from Governor Okorocha, his anti-people programmes were capable of bringing the image of the party to ridicule.

Hon Azuatalam, who is the Executive Director, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) further maintained that prior to the present plight of Governor Okorocha in APC, he made all efforts in his capacity as BOT member to address every issue of his bad policies and it’s consequences to the party, and regretted that Governor Okorocha declined all entreaties for peace talk with party stakeholders in the state.

He therefore expressed happiness that having recovered APC from Governor Okorocha, stakeholders who are members of the coalition would seat down after next week inauguration of Dr. Hilary Ekeh by NWC as party Chairman to discuss the way forward for the party towards winning the 2019 election in Imo State, instead of allowing the party to sink alongside with Governor Okorocha.

Concluding, Hon Azuatalam therefore warned Imo people not to patronize fraudsters who are going around selling nomination forms in the name of LGA election in the state, stressing that APC is not aware of any LGA election for now, and enjoined those already defrauded to report to security agencies to assist them recover their money.
