Reps: Opinion survey favous Idiga

The President/Founder of a notable Charity Organization, Chief Sir Felix Chidi Idiga (JAFAC) is far on the lead in an Opinion Survey conducted among the aspirants in the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2019 polls, reliable sources have revealed. The report said, Chief Idiga was scored high in the opinion Search and therefore, given undivided support to represent the Federal Constituency in the Hallowed Chamber of the National Assembly, come 2019 elections.
An Independent body, the CASTLOT CONSULT, which conducted the survey in the Federal Constituency which comprised Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Local Governments, said the Opinion Survey was carried out between December 3, 2017 and February 15, 2018.
The Head, Public Affairs Unit of the firm, Mr. Jeff Isiguzo Nwaeke, told Newsmen in Orlu that the organization approached the exercise through Random Sampling Techniques involving not less than One Thousand (1000) respondents selected from each of the three Local Governments  of the Federal Constituency, and that the selected samples cut across different groups including men and women, youths, king makers, different political parties, as well as the physically challenged persons and religious groups.
Nwaeke further said that the firm’s investigation team also applied the “Tout” approach at certain public gatherings and eating places and was able to harness some privileged information which reflected on the general opinion of the majority of the constituents of the Federal Constituency.
According to Nwaeke there seem to be a clear understanding of the economy and political sanity in “Power Shifting” or “Rotation” among the three blocks, hence most of the aspirants so far are of Orlu extraction.
The survey further revealed that two political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (POP) are at the apex of interest to present candidates for the 2019 elections in the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency. The spokesman of CASTLOT CONSULT told the press that certain critical variables were employed to agitate the minds of the people. He noted that credibility of candidates was prominently brought to bare, and that the result index indicated that among the aspirants, Chief Idiga (JAFAC) was at the peak of fame and honour, which the respondents noted was as a result of his wonderful track record even outside the corridors of power.
So far five (5) aspirants have directly or indirectly indicated interest to run for the 2019 elections in Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency. The report said that notable among them are Chief Sir Felix Idiga (JAFAC) of ARC, Ichie Uche Best Mbanaso, SA to Governor Rochas Okorocha on New cities and market development who is also contesting under ARC; others are Mr. Theo Mgbeojirikwe of ARC, and Chief Onuora Olumba who is contesting under the Peoples Democratic Party (POP). The list also included the incumbent, Hon Jerry Alagboso (Asuwaju) who is on his second tenure in the Hallowed Chambers. Alagbaso was however, not considered a hot contender because according to most respondents, he has no moral justification to seek a third chance in the midst of more credible aspirants.
More so Alagbaso’s two tenures were characterized by lopsided and lack-luster legislative and empowerment competence, the report said.   The result of the Survey according to analysts represents what they called “MOCK PRIMARY” which they said would reflect the outcomeiof the result of the real Party Primaries and the main elections.
They further said that Chief Idiga’s high scores in Orsu and Oru East in the Opinion Survey have given shape and alignment to what and how the final result will be, noting that Orlu bloc will have divided votes due to the number of aspirants coming from the area, even as they gave the slot to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next dispensation.
