This Igbo adage that says; “ofu onye anaghi eshi nri oha na – eri”, meaning that an individual doesn’t cook food for the entire society, has a lot to do with this moment Imo State is passing through socio-economic and political turmoil. Since the inception of the Rescue Mission Government’s second tenure led by, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, the State seems to be sitting on a keg of gun powder trying to explode. And, it will be very disastrous if such explosive device id allowed to devastate the Imo society owing to inability to apply God given wisdom on socioeconomic and political issues.
It is often said that” he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones, and also that one should not throw stones at the market because you never can tell whom it may fall on”.
Already in Imo State, there is a hand writing on the wall. It is a simple one that needs no soothsayer to interpret it, but you whom the words are boldly written with your name” Imo 2019; Okorocha be careful” You are sowing seeds that would engulf generations yet unknown if you dare execute what you intend to do in a state where people gave you their trust and confidence to rescue them from mal-administration only for you to device a means of destroying the entire society for personal aggrandizement, herein, is covetiouness and the spirit of stubbornness in a democratic government with the intention to dominate the people you call my people, my people.
Governor Okorocha, there is this other Igbo adage that says”o anaghi adi nma akpo nkiti nwa ori nshi ya eriwe nshi” the interpretation is that it is not good for a dog to be called a shit eater and it goes on eating shit. Imolites have spotted you as a vampire in their environment that came to steal, to kill, to destroy their lives and property in order to take over their land. They have bemoaned your indication to use your number one citizenship of the state to impose a candidate on them, and this seem to portray the abuse of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The question is why would you allow your God given talent to become a destructive device in a nation? Femi Fani- Kayode in an article and widely published opinion captioned” Femi- Kayode’s response to Okorocha’s statement: this is true to the character of Okorocha who is well known for his garrulousness which he ridiculously mistakes for oratory, with which, unfortunately, he has been misleading the good people of Imo State.
Fani-Kayode further stated that Okorocha is nothing but a dirty, cheap, fat, ugly frog that mistake himself for a monkey simply because he can hop. A man who serves and defends a president and government that have murdered, insulted, marginalized and humiliated more of his own Igbo than any other government in the history of Nigeria outside the civil war”
However, the oddious memories should not be kept evergreen come Imo State 2019 governorship election which have been the benchmark of this article. Okorocha should be careful with his desperation to elongate his stay in the State Government House, Owerri which is the peoples house by using Mr Uche Nwosu as his successor because the state is pregnant and may deliver social mayhem which will consume the unwary. Imo State from the spiritual realm is in the path revolution and it is only those whose hearts are clean that will survive 2019 political mayhem planted by the All Progressives Congress APC government led by Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha. To the oil producing areas Youths which the incumbent governor is intending to use as elections mercenaries I warn you to be careful because many of you will die for nothing yet Okorocha will not achieve his aim. This is a message from fortnight dream to all and sundry.
