Imo Guber: Appeal Court may refer to election petition tribunal’s verdict

The Imo state election petition tribunal panel that superintended over the governorship suit of the state critically dealt with evidences and petitions raised by the trio of Ararume, Hope Uzodinma and Uche Nwosu respectively as regards the declaration of Hon Emeka Ihedioha ( CON) as the winner of the Imo governorship election held in the state early this year.
In the separate ruling of the judges which lasted for hours, the judges of the EPT extensively without bias carefully examined the petitions / evidence (s) before them and struck out several motions / prayers instituted by both the petitioners and the defendants for lack of merit thereby closing up loopholes which the appellate court might rely on to set aside the ruling of the Governorship EPT.
On resumption of the Imo governorship suit, the appellate court after perusing / study of addresses / briefs adopted last Monday, shall refer back to the ruling of the Imo state Election Petition Tribunal to ascertain if the tribunal judges erred in law while arriving at their verdict.
In a situation where the EPT did a thorough job as observed by some legal luminaries in the state coupled with the sponsor of the chief petitioner (ie Action Alliance) abandoning him and the latest court ruling where the said chief petitioner and governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) violated the electoral act as amended on grounds of “double nomination”, the appellate court which currently is in custody of these evidences packaged by the defendants as contained in the briefs / addresses adopted last Monday, without preempting the court, I predict victory for the incumbent governor of Imo state, Hon Emeka Ihedioha (CON).
But I must commend the trio of Ararume, Hope Uzodinma and Uche Nwosu for their courage even with their recent ” Unholy Marriage ” which according to some critical stakeholders in the state whom in their separate submissions noted that such alliance remain unhealthy and not in the best interest of the state, I hereby urge the petitioners to at the at end of the ruling of the appellate court in no distant time, embrace peace, formally congratulate the executive governor of the state and move on.
The outcome of the Imo governorship election cum emergence of Hon Emeka Ihedioha as the executive governor of the state is a reflection of the will of the (masses) people.
Power is transient and indeed it’s a reality!!!!!!!
