Ngor Okpala Assembly: l am a born leader Opara

The candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC for the Ngor State Constituency seat in Imo State House of Assembly in the fast approaching 2019 elections, Hon Chinedu Opara has declared that he is a born leader who is endowed with all the attributes common to good leaders.
The journalist turned politician made this assertion Sunday, February 3,2019, at the debate/ manifesto presentation organized by a coalition of Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, CSOs and Church Based Organizations, CBOs in the Local Government Area, held at Umuneke, the council headquarters.
Responding to a question on why he feels he’s the best to represent the council in the coming dispensation, the ADC standard bearer reeled out what he described as litany of tangible and verifiable evidence of his leadership traits.
He itemized these feats to include his role alongside other youths in founding the most prominent youth body in the council namely Onyeaghalanwanneya Youth Movement, OYM; and subsequent roles as general secretary, media director, and most importantly, spearheading of the struggle for the rights of Imo Airport host communities which federal agencies have denied them since flight operations began at the airport, up to the Nigeria National Assembly even as he noted that the struggle has yielded over twenty federal jobs since the intervention of the House of Representatives.
Hon Opara who, until recently was the editor of Nigeria Newspoint Newspaper also told the audience that he is a founding member of Ogbako Ngor Okpala Youths, the apex socio cultural youth body in the council which, partnered other youths bodies in the area to organize the first ever political debate in the council, stressing that the numerous achievements of Ogbako Ngor Okpala Youths in past five years since it was formed can be directly traced to the president Engr Henry Uzoma and himself.
The Logara born experienced journalist similarly recalled how he not only revived and changed the fortunes of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, during Chief Emma Nwaogu’s reign as executive chairman of the LGA, but also carried out the first and incidentally the only successful youth empowerment program in 2005 that saw over thirty youths empowered with various tools adding that this record as well as other exemplary conducts played key role in making PDP leadership in council led by Col. Lambert Iheanacho (rtd) to unanimously anoint him as the Secretary to the Council during the late Chief Sabinus Okere transition administration between 2010 to 2011.
He equally drew the attention of his listeners to his leadership role in transforming his party in the LGA from a back seat party into a rapidly growing entity that is rated as one of frontrunners for the state assembly seat.
The assembly hopeful assured Ngor Okpala electorate that he will commit everything into ensuring that the old story of poor representation which had been the bane of the council is thrown into the trashcan of history, to make for a new dawn of quality service.
He stressed that towards achieving this objective, he has in consultation with experts in various fields fashioned a legislative blueprint which he assured will meet the yearnings and aspirations of his people.
Hon Opara listed his priority areas if elected to include bringing back constituency briefing which he said will be held every six months; revolving loan scheme/ real empowerment scheme which will be executed in conjunction with Bridge House Micro Finance Bank based in the state.
Other areas which he said will be of interest to him includes sports development/ talent hunt/ football academy; initiation and presentation of a bill to designate Ngor Okpala as Imo industrial hub and struggle for actualization of the full rights and benefits of the LGA and host communities of Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport amongst others.
