2019: I’m governor in waiting, Nwosu tells Orlu elders

Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is not relenting in his bid to succeed his father in law Gov Rochas Okorocha, despite mounting opposition following his declaration yesterday that he is already Imo governor in waiting.

The Chief of Staff CoS to the governor made this authoritative assertion in Owerri, the state capital during a meeting he held with Orlu Zone Elders Council in the Owerri residence of an Orlu Zone monarch, Eze John Nwosu.

According to sources close to the meeting Ugwumba Nwosu attended the meeting in company of the state commissioner for transport, Mr Lasberry Okafor Anyanwu.

Nigeria Newspoint gathered that Ugwumba Nwosu had tried hard to impress it on the elders that he has the requisite capacity and qualifications to govern the state even as he pooh poohed the hue and cry about zoning which he is undemocratic.

According to him his guber ambition is made in heaven and as guaranteed to to manifest stressing that he is optimistic that he would be sworn in as governor come May 29 2019.

Ugwumba Nwosu it was further gathered called on the leaders of the zone to join the moving train of his governorship ambition which he boasted would berth safely next year.

Sources revealed that most of those who attended the meeting were put off by the CoS  seeming over bloated confidence hence their lukewarm response to him.

They were said to have wished him well in his endeavour since it appeared the meeting was just to tell them that his guber quest is fait accompli.

Nigeria Newspoint findings revealed that some of the elders of the zone deliberately shunned the parley on the ground that under no guise should Orlu zone campaign for governorship in 2019.

Prominent among those shunned the meeting is Chief Kingsley Ufere, while some of those who attended were prof Chuks Okonkwo, Dr Goddy Esom Obodo, Livy Uzoukwu SAN,  Jude Nnodim SAN, Engr Chuma Nzeribe, Prof Francis Dike and Eze John Nwosu who hosted the meeting.
