2019: Isu APC leaders endorse Uju Okoro for IMHA

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Isu local government area of Imo State have thrown their support behind the ambition of Engr Uju Okoro to represent the LGA in the Imo State House of Assembly come 2019.

This was made open during the party’s ward executive meeting comprising Amurie Omanze Ward one and two, they reaffirmed their earlier support given to the former local government Chairman to represent them, describing him as the only qualified candidate the area would adopt in 2019 for effective representation at the state Assembly.

In their separate speeches, APC Chairman of Amurie Omanze Ward one, Hon. Sabinus Iwuoha stated that out of the old five political blocks in the LGA, no Amurie son or daughter has represented the area in the House, expressed regret that in 2011 when Engr Okoro won the seat, they used every method to rob him off his mandate.

He therefore called on their sons and daughters to wake up from slumber and ensured that the needful was done, while reiterating him confidence that Engr Okoro would deliver in his electioneering promises.

On his part, APC Chairman of Amurie Omanze Ward two, Hon Pius Anuguo expressed annoyance why his area would be left with nothing since the creation of the LGA, and charged their people to ensure they collect Permanent Voters Card in view of the 2019 election.

According to him, Engr Okoro has what it takes to represent the LGA in the House, and wondered what would stand as a stumbling block against his ambition to grab the seat, appealing to stakeholders in the area to allow equity and fair play to take its position in the issue.

Adding his voice, a notable son of the LGA and political strongman, Chief Cosmos Maduba (Odebube Isu) who was in the meeting enjoined every reasonable Isu indigene to rally round Engr Okoro, saying that if equity must be allowed to take its precedent, there was need to allow Amurie political block to cling the position.

He said that if Engr Okoro was allowed to hold his mandate after he won the position in 2011, the issue of marginalization of Amurie block would have been a thing of the past, and assured them that the matter would be corrected in 2019. He therefore called on the people to support him.
